My Kids' Skin Routine
Share
Dry, itchy, eczema-prone skin is so hard on little ones, and on the parents up at night with them. I like to support children's skin from both sides: gently from the inside, looking at the body's response to allergens and its natural elimination, and soothing care on the outside. Here's the routine I suggest for kids.
My routine
Morning: Aller Ease (child dose, as on the label) + Q Detox (3 to 5 drops)
Evening: Sleepytime (child dose, as on the label)
On the skin: QDerma Cream, 2 to 3 times a day, especially after the bath
Drops can go straight into the mouth, on a spoon, or into a drink or food.
Why these four
Aller Ease, in the morning. Its herbs are chosen to support a more balanced response to allergens, which so often plays a part in sensitive skin.
Q Detox, 3 to 5 drops once a day for children. Supports the liver and the body's natural elimination. For kids, I keep the dose low.
Sleepytime, in the evening. Itchy skin and broken sleep go hand in hand. Sleepytime is traditionally used to support calm and restful sleep.
QDerma Cream, 2 to 3 times a day. A soothing herbal cream for dry, irritated patches. It works best straight after the bath, while the skin is still slightly damp.
My extra tips
- Short, lukewarm baths. Pat dry gently and moisturise straight away.
- Dress them in soft cotton and avoid scratchy wool against the skin.
- Use fragrance-free washing powder and skip bubble bath.
- Keep nails short to limit damage from scratching.
- Notice whether particular foods, soaps or seasons make things worse.
