I've just packed a remedy kit for a young athlete heading overseas to compete. Long flights, new germs, different food and big competition days all put pressure on the immune system, so here's exactly what I sent with them. It's the same kit I'd suggest for any family travelling this season.
What's in the kit
Every day: Immune Drops (10 drops) morning and evening + Revive Drops (10 drops) morning and afternoon
If needed: Snot Drops and Tickle Ease, at the first sign of a runny nose or chesty tickle
Drops can go straight in the mouth or into a drink bottle to sip through the day, which makes them easy on the go.
Why these four
Immune Drops, twice daily. Travel means new environments and plenty of people, so I like keeping immune support steady from the day before departure until well after landing.
Revive Drops, morning and afternoon. For energy and recovery. Jet lag, training and competition all draw on the body's reserves, and Revive is there to nourish the nervous system through it.
Snot Drops and Tickle Ease, if needed. These are the "just in case" pair. If a runny nose or tickly chest appears, it's much easier to start straight away than to go hunting for something in a foreign pharmacy.
My extra travel tips
- Start the Immune Drops a day or two before you leave.
- Keep a water bottle with you on the plane and add your drops to it.
- Get outside into daylight when you land to help reset your body clock.
Any 3 or more 20ml drops are $30 each, so this kit saves you $20. The discount applies automatically at checkout.
Each 5 drops contains just 0.005 g fresh herb equivalent. Athletes competing under anti-doping rules should check any remedy with their team doctor or Drug Free Sport NZ. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medication, check with your healthcare professional before starting. Always read the label and use as directed.
